Growing Pains in a Pandemic

Policy Expert increased their customer’s from 800,000 to 1 million customers in 2021, we grew our head count from 250 to over 350 in two locations – one in Milton Keynes and one in Motherwell.

The discussion would be around flexing our recruitment strategy to account for virtual interviews, looking at how we redeployed our experienced staff so our new starters can be in the office going through our induction. Talking through the new look at Policy Expert – around 30% of people with less than a years service have never physically met their team mates, how has this impacted our culture and how did we successfully manage to onboard and socialise our teams to keep our overall call centre attrition at below 15%.

  1. How did continue our growth trajectory in the middle of a pandemic? – Discussion on what we changed, how we adapted and what changes we implemented to ensure success with an aggressive business growth plan in covid- Current Recruitment methodologies- How this impacted our recruitment strategy for 2021 – What were the successes and ‘learning’ from the agile recruitment approach
  2. What does 2022 look like?- What are we keeping- What are we ‘reverting’ back to?
  3. Culture and new starters during the pandemic.

Inequality & the power recruiters hold to change the world!

The world is changing, we are waking up to the impact of inequality and clients are starting to see its impact across their workplaces – the unquestionable lack of difference and diversity.

As an industry we have huge amount of power and influence over the UK jobs market, we can turn the dial on underrepresentation by creating an environment where every person is welcome and has the equal opportunity to secure great work.

This is our time to really step up and transform what we do. Recruitment businesses who educate their recruiters and give them the tools and confidence to attract underrepresented talent will be in a stronger position to support clients who are genuinely trying to change things. I am going to show you how to start that work.

Flipping the fee-based agency model on its head: RaaS and the future of recruiting

The evolution of the recruitment industry has been led by those wanting to offer more value to their customers.

Traditionally, using an agency to hire frees up internal resources but can be perceived as costly and doesn’t facilitate relationship building or business insights. Using an in-house team offers this but internal HR teams seldom have the specialised recruitment skills required to build a team.

Enter the RaaS model. This offers the best of both worlds, whereby a scaling business can select aspects of the recruitment process they require support with, creating a blended solution that achieves the best possible outcome.

They may have no previous recruitment experience, but they are a clean slate, eager to learn and possess lots of transferrable skills that give them the potential to make fantastic consultants…with the right support and training.

A lot of agencies see this as a risky move, but if done properly it can really help grow the business.
