I joined the staffing world 20 years ago, running payroll for a high-volume temp agency. The management team were the first ‘kick ass’ women I had ever been exposed to. I found myself mesmerised by their strength and independence, it gave me something to aspire to, and changed my perception of what it meant to be female.
I soon found out that recruitment wasn’t an easy place to be for teenage girls! I came up against challenges that looking back, I’m not sure I could overcome now. However I’d developed a passion that I wasn’t willing to give up on, and I never regretted doubling down on life as a recruiter.
I’ve found my happy place in technology, but will always attribute the wonderful life I’ve led to staffing, and more notably, the females I’ve been exposed to within the industry. I’m committed to helping others navigate their way to senior roles within minority industries without having to put their happiness and mental health in question.
