Make your speaker application stand out
Thank you for your interest in speaking at Recruitment Agency Expo London 2027.
Our conference programme is designed to give recruitment business owners, directors, leaders and managers practical ideas, real-world insight and fresh perspectives they can take back and apply within their businesses.
Use the guidance below to help you prepare your application and give us a clear understanding of your proposed session.
Please read before applying
Our delegates consistently tell us they value sessions that are practical, honest and based on real experience.
We give priority to speakers who can share genuine experience, practical examples, lessons learned and measurable results. Product demonstrations and sales presentations will not be considered.
What makes a strong application?
When reviewing proposals, our Programme Director and conference team will be looking for sessions that offer genuine value to the Recruitment Agency Expo audience.
Relevance
Does the subject address an important challenge or opportunity facing recruitment businesses today?
Practical Value
Will delegates leave with useful ideas or actions they can put into practice?
Real Experience
Is the session supported by genuine experience, examples, evidence or results?
Clarity
Can we quickly understand what your session will cover and what delegates will gain?
Fresh Thinking
Does the session introduce a useful new perspective, approach or way of thinking?
Audience Appeal
Would a recruitment owner, director or manager see the session and want to attend?
Completing your application
The guidance below follows the same order as the Speaker Application Form, making it easy to refer back to while preparing your submission.
1. About the speaker
If you are completing the form on behalf of someone else, please provide your own name and email address first, and then complete the remainder of the form with the details of the proposed speaker.
If you are the proposed speaker, simply complete the form using your own details.
We will ask for:
- Speaker name
- Job title
- Company or organisation
- Email address
- LinkedIn profile
- Speaker photograph
- Short biography
Speaker photograph
Please upload a clear, recent photograph of the proposed speaker. A good-quality head-and-shoulders image is preferable, as the image may be used on the Recruitment Agency Expo website and in promotional material if the session is selected.
Short biography
Maximum 150 words.
Your biography should establish why delegates should be interested in hearing from you. Keep it relevant to the proposed session and focus on your current role, relevant experience and achievements rather than providing your complete career history.
A strong biography will help us understand:
- Your current role and responsibilities
- Your relevant experience
- Achievements connected to your proposed subject
- Why your perspective will be valuable to our audience
Write your biography in a way that could also be used on the Recruitment Agency Expo website if your session is selected.
Your session proposal
This is the most important part of your application.
Your proposal should make it very clear what your session is about, why it matters to recruitment businesses and what delegates will gain by attending.
2. Proposed Session Title
Maximum 75 charactersYour title is one of the first things delegates will see when choosing which sessions to attend.
Aim for a title that is clear, specific, relevant and compelling. It should give delegates a good idea of what they will learn rather than simply naming a broad topic.
AI in Recruitment
How We Used AI to Cut Admin Time Without Losing the Human Touch
Avoid overly clever titles that leave delegates unsure what the session is actually about.
3. In One Sentence
Maximum 150 charactersImagine a delegate is scanning the conference programme and deciding in just a few seconds whether to attend your session.
Describe your session in a single sentence and focus on what the delegate will gain from attending.
A useful question to ask yourself is: “Why should someone attend this session?”
4. What Challenge Does Your Session Address?
Maximum 300 charactersTell us what problem, opportunity or industry challenge your session will help recruitment businesses better understand or overcome.
Areas might include:
- Increasing profitability or productivity
- Winning and retaining clients
- Recruiter performance and retention
- Leadership and management
- AI, automation and technology
- Candidate engagement
- Changing client expectations
- Compliance and regulation
- Scaling a recruitment business
- Entering new markets
- Operational efficiency
- The future of recruitment and staffing
These are examples rather than a definitive list. The important thing is to explain why your topic matters now.
5. Session Description
Maximum 350 wordsIf your session is selected, this description may be edited and used on the conference website and in promotional material.
Tell delegates what you will cover, why it matters now, who should attend and what they will learn.
A useful way to structure your description is:
The Challenge
What is happening and why does it matter?
Your Insight
What have you learned, discovered or achieved?
What You'll Cover
What will you actually share during the session?
The Takeaways
What will delegates know or do differently afterwards?
Keep your description concise, engaging and free from promotional language. Where possible, include real examples, evidence, numbers or results.
“This session will explore different strategies for improving recruiter productivity.”
“We’ll share the changes we made to our recruitment process, what we stopped doing, what we automated and the impact those changes had on consultant productivity and performance.”
6. Why Are You the Right Person to Deliver This Session?
Tell us why you are particularly well placed to speak about your proposed subject.
We are more interested in real experience than a general statement that you are an expert.
Where possible, tell us about:
- Something you have actually implemented
- A business challenge you have faced
- Results you have achieved
- A transformation you have led
- Research, evidence or data you can share
- Teams, businesses or clients you have worked with
- Lessons learned from success or failure
- Experience that gives you a distinctive perspective
Rather than simply saying “I have extensive experience in recruitment leadership”, tell us what that experience has enabled you to do, change, achieve or learn.
7. Will Your Session Promote or Demonstrate a Product or Service?
The application form will ask you to answer Yes or No.
Please be open with us. Sessions primarily focused on promoting a company, product or service are unlikely to be selected.
Suppliers and industry specialists are very welcome to apply. Mentioning technology, tools or services as part of a genuine case study may be appropriate, but the session itself should remain focused on learning and value for the audience.
Would this session still be valuable to a delegate who never buys anything from my company?
What are we less likely to select?
Your proposal is less likely to be successful if it is:
- A sales presentation or product demonstration
- Primarily designed to promote your company or service
- A generic leadership or motivational presentation
- Based mainly on theory without practical examples
- Unclear about what delegates will learn
- Too niche to be relevant to a broad recruitment audience
- Based around a very broad topic without a clear angle
- Missing clear practical takeaways for delegates
Speaker Expenses & Practical Arrangements
Please note that speaking opportunities at Recruitment Agency Expo are unpaid. Speakers are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel and accommodation costs.
Speaking at the Expo offers the opportunity to share your expertise with recruitment agency owners, leaders and decision-makers, raise your profile within the sector and contribute to the wider industry conversation.
Before you submit — a final checklist
Before sending your application, ask yourself whether your proposal does the following:
What happens after you apply?
All submissions will be reviewed by our Programme Director and conference team as part of the programme selection process.
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place on the conference programme. We receive more proposals than we are able to accommodate, and selections will be made according to relevance, quality, audience value and the balance of the overall programme.
If your proposal is selected, we may work with you to refine the session title, description or positioning so that it communicates the value of the session clearly and fits effectively within the overall conference programme.
Ready to apply?
Once you are happy with your proposal, complete the Speaker Application Form and tell us about the session you would like to deliver.
Have a question?
If you have any questions about your proposed session or completing your application, please contact our Programme Director, Louise Triance, who will be happy to help.
